Small Group Realism Classes

Welcome to Luke's Fine Arts, where we offer small group realism drawing classes designed to foster collaboration, inspiration, and growth among aspiring artists. Led by our sole instructor, Luke Lewis, these classes provide a unique opportunity for students to learn and develop their artistic skills in a supportive and interactive environment. We offer 2 types of group classes:
(1) 10 Week Curriculum - Term Based
Description
By the end of this class, you will:
- Understand the basics of all the tools required for realism, including graphite pencils, erasers, blending tools and much more!
- Have a firm grip on the concepts of shading, values and form. These concepts will help you to draw things that look '3-D' on paper.
- Learn the skills you need to draw realism.
- Have the confidence to begin and finish your own realism drawing project.

Who this class is for:
- This class is for anyone. The beauty of this class is that it is tailored to your specific needs. Whether you are an absolute beginner, have some experience or are an established artist, this class will have something for you.
Class structure:

This class is broken down into three distinct areas.
- First, we learn about the core concepts of realism and how we can use graphite pencils to achieve it.
- Second, we work on a project that helps us consolidate all the concepts we learn. Each project is broken into four sections—foundations, beginner, intermediate and advanced, depending on your current skill level.
- Lastly, we learn the skill of 'checking', a crucial skill to learn to finish the work of art you have always wanted.

(2) Drawing Foundations 4-week crash course
Want to learn how to draw but don't know if you have what it takes? Then this 4-week foundations crash course is perfect for you! This class is uniquely designed for beginners who want to learn the fundamentals of drawing without becoming overwhelmed. You will learn about the basic principles of drawing, such as line, shape, form, perspective, and shading while having fun with local artist Luke Lewis. In this class, you will use graphite pencils exclusively to drill down on the basics and not get too overwhelmed with colour theory. This class is perfect for anyone who wants to learn to draw or improve their drawing skills. Whether you are a complete beginner or have some experience, this class will help you take your drawing to the next level.
By the end of this class, you will:
- Be confident with graphite pencils.
- Understand the foundations of drawing.
- Create realistic shading and highlights.
- Apply the principles of perspective.
- Create your own pictures from reference photos.
What you will need:

Who this class is for:
- Beginners who want to learn the fundamentals of drawing
- Intermediate artists who want to improve their drawing skills
Class structure:
- The class will meet in Bull Creek, Perth, for face-to-face courses once a week for four weeks.
- Each class will last approximately 1.25 hours.
- A qualified art instructor will teach the lesson.
Cost:
- The cost of the class is $120 per person. That's just $30 per lesson!

The small group setting allows for more focused instruction, enhanced peer learning, and the forging of meaningful connections with like-minded artists.
