Hi, I’m Dion Hamill, a professional illustrator, arts mentor, and instructor with over 25 years of experience. I live and work right here in sunny Perth with my wife, daughter, and our cat.

Ever since I was a little kid, art has been my passion. At just 5 years old, I knew that creating art was the life for me when I got my first sci-fi book, *Space Wars Worlds and Weapons* (I still have it!). I started by tracing that cover over and over, and soon, my love of drawing expanded to people, cars, landscapes — anything that caught my imagination.

That same spark of creativity led me to make my own comics, including my first character, “Egg-Man,” and eventually into a fulfilling career as an illustrator. I’ve been lucky enough to work with amazing publishers like Macmillan, Scholastic, and Harper Collins, and even published my own books: Amazing Ruins, The Pegasus Quest

, and The Twelve Tasks of Hercules.

These days, I’m dedicated to sharing everything I’ve learned with the next generation of artists. That’s why I’m offering realism drawing classes for kids aged 8-14, focusing on graphite pencil and coloured pencils.
